BLM’s Real Agenda

And, Who’s ActBlue?

Given the publicity this organization receives, I wanted to learn more about it. My research began with Wikipedia. It says that Black Lives Matter is a 16 chapter decentralized grassroots organization that began in 2013 with a platform that advocates for change through non-violent means. Sounds like a noble cause. After a lengthy read, I concluded that their decentralization was somewhat problematic and led to conflicting messages, agenda differences and internal confusion. But, you’d probably expect this kind of dynamic within a grassroots organization that is lacking a single leader’s passion and vision. If you have the time, it’s worth a read.

My research moved on to a review of their www.blacklivesmatter.com website. The home page features a big call-to-action statement “We call for sustainable transformation in our communities”. Nothing disturbing in those words. Another scrolling panel says “Now We Transform”. But, how do they do that? Two central themes are quickly apparent. They want to defund police departments nationally and they want taxpayers to provide further investment in their communities. If you’re a supporter of their agenda, they want you to sign a petition and donate money to their organization. Now it gets interesting.
